DHS- Division of Services for People with Disabilities
The Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD) promotes opportunities and provides supports for people with disabilities to lead self-determined lives by overseeing home and community-based services for more than 5,000 people who have disabilities. They are our funding partner and allow us to provide services for many of our individuals. Vocational Rehabilitation
Voc Rehab support individuals with disabilities in obtaining competitive, integrated employment through professional vocational counseling and guidance, and through partnerships with employers, school districts, higher education and other agencies. They also serve Utah businesses by offering training on hiring individuals with disabilities and workplace accommodations. We partner with them, and provide services for their clients.
Disability Law Center
The Disability Law Center (DLC) is a private, non-profit organization designated by the governor as Utah’s Protection and Advocacy (P&A) agency. Their mission is to enforce and strengthen laws that protect the opportunities, choices and legal rights of Utahns with disabilities. If you or someone you love, needs help advocating for their needs, the DLC might be able to help. They also serve as a free program that fights discrimination here in Utah.
Utah Parent Center
The mission of the Utah Parent Center (UPC or Center) is to help parents help their children, youth and young adults with all disabilities to live included, productive lives as members of the community.They accomplish our mission by providing accurate information, empathetic peer support, valuable training and effective advocacy based on the concept of parents helping parents. This organization helps parents of kids with disabilities in almost any way possible.
The Autism Council of Utah
The Autism Council of Utah (ACU) is an independent council working to foster collaboration, communication, and learning among families and agencies. Their aim is to promote access to resources and responsible information for individuals of all ages who have or are affected by autism, or related conditions. They will help you get connected with everything autism in Utah, including specific events and resources.
